Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves. Surrounding and protecting the nerve fibers of the CNS is a fatty tissue called myelin, which helps nerve fibers conduct electrical impulses. In MS, myelin is lost in multiple areas, leaving scar tissue called sclerosis. Sometimes the nerve fiber itself is damaged or broken. Myelin not only protects nerve fibers, but makes their job possible. When myelin or the nerve fiber is destroyed or damaged, the ability of the nerves to conduct electrical impulses to and from the brain is disrupted, and this produces the various symptoms of MS.
As multiple sclerosis (MS) attacks the nerves, it can lead to a variety of symptoms. These symptoms and their severity can be different from person to person, and the ones you experience can change over time.
Many people with MS have problems with cognition. Symptoms may include memory loss, attention and concentration issues, difficulty processing information, trouble planning and prioritizing, and verbal fluency issues (like word recall).
People with MS may experience problems with their eyes. This happens because the optic nerve can become inflamed, or other related nerves can be damaged, resulting in potential blurred vision, loss of normal color vision, blindness in one eye, a dark spot in the field of vision, double vision, and uncontrolled eye movements or “jumping vision.”
People with MS may become more easily worn out after physical activity than usual. In addition to experiencing physical fatigue from doing simple things, people with MS may also experience mental fatigue from depression.
Many people with MS may experience a temporary worsening of MS symptoms when exposed to heat or dealing with a fever. Symptoms caused by heat are typically temporary and do not cause further damage to the nerves. Once the temperature cools, even by a small amount, the symptoms usually subside.
Bowel and bladder problems
Problems with your bowel and bladder can happen because MS lesions may block or delay nerve signals in parts of the central nervous system that control the bowel, bladder and urinary muscles. Symptoms of bladder dysfunction may include incontinence; having to urinate frequently, urgently, or at night; and the inability to empty your bladder completely. Bowel problems may include constipation and diarrhea.
The nerve damage caused by MS may lead to issues with sexual function. This means sexual response—including arousal and orgasm—can be directly affected. Men may experience difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection, and reduced sensation or difficulty achieving ejaculation. Women may experience reduced sensation, painfully heightened sensation, or vaginal dryness. Sexual issues may also stem from other MS symptoms such as fatigue or spasticity, as well as from psychological factors relating to self-esteem and mood changes.
People with MS may feel things like sharp stabbing facial pain. Burning, aching, and tingling “pins and needles” are also common around the body. Chronic back and musculoskeletal pain may be experienced as a result of walking problems and/or muscle spasticity.
Because MS can damage the nerves in the spinal cord and brain, the muscles may become weak and ineffective. Stiff muscles and spasms, or sudden involuntary movements, also known as spasticity, are common. Trouble with walking is also common in people with MS. There is no cure for multiple sclerosis. Treatment for MS typically focuses on speeding recovery from attacks, slowing the progression of the disease and managing MS symptoms. The following are some options to reduce MS symptoms.
A. Disease Modifying Therapies

1. Balanced diets, not too full, not too hungry.

5. Reduce to intake processed foods, especially animal fats.
6. Reduce to intake chocolate, sweets and ice cream.
7. Eat 4 to 10 teaspoons (20 to 50 grams) of high-quality cooking oil daily, such as soybean oil, wheat germ oil, and linseed oil. These oils provide sufficient daily essential parts of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
8. Daily intake of some fish oil can improve the multiple sclerosis. From a physiological and nutritional point of view, fish foods have a high nutritional value, which is beyond doubt. Because fish, especially deep-sea fish, are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and high-quality protein.
9. The intake of sugar in carbohydrates should be reduced. Choose some coarse grains such as whole wheat flour, whole wheat bread, brown rice (with refined rice and oatmeal food).
10. Eat more fruits, vegetables and salads to increase the fiber content of your food.
11. Eat more fish, less red meat, maximum 2-3 times per week for animal meat per week.
12. It is best not to eat sausage, because the sausage contains a lot of fat, the more fat intake, the higher the recurrence rate.
13. Make sure to intake high quality and natural food.
14. Exercise regularly. Moderate regular physical exercise can help prevent osteoporosis.
15. Limit dairy products. Certain foods can cause the onset of multiple sclerosis, including milk, dairy products, caffeine, yeast and drums (found in wheat, barley, oats and rye), ketchup, vinegar, wine and grains. Also it is proven to be harmful, it is best not to eat.
